Princes of the Tower
We were young,
Ill protected,
Rightfully Kings.
And in the care of relatives-
Our little bones
Found mysteriously,
Under the staircase.
Rest in peace, Edward and Richard

Freeze
You'll never realize that your freezing to death.
You sit out in the cold thinking of warmth,
While your limbs have lost all feeling.
Through windows you peer into the houses of the loved,
As ice crystals form on your cheeks.
The last part to freeze is your heart,
Although it has been cold long before this.

After the Carnival
After the Harvest Carnival
All that was left was a barren field-
Dusty dirt, trampled popcorn boxes
And Circus animal droppings.
Ah, but there is treasure among the trash.
And as fate would have it,
A damning piece of evidence
for authorities on the case.
Found is the diary of Banjo the clown.
Complete with a burial map
Of all the missing persons.

Spider Master
Come to me, my silk spinning children,
For I have a task gruesome in nature:
Let the moon guide your way
through cracks and crevices,
To the list of souls
Who've crossed my path.
Into sleep filled rooms,
Our victims slumber,
Their parted lips give way
To passages and chambers.
As your Spider Master,
heed my command
to cob-up the insides
and lay your eggs.

Burden of Knowing
Oh these vague visions!
How I smell the phantom smoke and hear the calling of Ravens
I see the apparitions of bricks and dirt
yet they are as useful as random
pieces to a puzzle I've never seen
Feelings of fear, panic and sorrow overwhelm
All for what? The spirits that want to avert?
Just because I dare to see does not mean I should look
So, a message to the powers that are,
There is no point in showing me the things
I cannot nor should not change

Punch Drunk
To own this original
With a swivel in his swagger
and a slurring of the swazzle
Punch quite drunk
wretchedly at his best

Tea with the Reaper
"make time for the little things in life. Perhaps start a collection or take up a hobby" he said adding another lump of sweetness to the horribly bitter tea. Tea, perhaps made of tree bark and moss but I dare not complain. "This meeting is but a friendly bit of advice" he smiled pointing to the coat hook that held scythe and shroud.
And I could empathize how a reaper would rarely have a guest for tea. So I showed no fear and complimented him on his exquisite Fiesta Collection.

The legend of Black Shall

The spirits that roam
As quiet as the night, the spirits roam
Up and down the rows of graves
keeping tallies of all who have come and gone
While others rest, some chose an active after-life
Visiting the places they were once fond of
holding on to the small details that have stayed the same
reminisce they will,
until they no longer recognize the living world

Hob Goblin
want to own this card?
Out in the forest lives a goblin
like no other goblin, he is a "Hob"
As to what a Hob truly is, no one can say
But to be a Hob is the highest of pedigree
revered quite gobliny - what ever that may be.
On Halloween night gather under moon,
they dance and jig about the patch
And when they find the perfect pumpkin
they offer it up to the goblin that is Hob
There is no explaining the ways of the weird
that in a goblins life lanterns are dear.
Happy Friday the 13th!!

Among the stones and gate
A quiet hush falls among the stones and gate
A feeling of sadness - A feeling of peace
Tense statues set to protect,
although nothing can readily be done
As this is a scared space -
The burial grounds of ancestors
Our proof of love and respect
And these monuments are for the eyes
Comfort for the still beating heart
As mourning is only for the living
If you could ignore the guilt
If you would quiet your soul
You could let yourself truly see-
And you would know that I am here
Comforting you

Spooky Hallow!!!
I am determined to get Adobe Photoshop to submit to my will!
And apparently it's working because I kept clicking on all the buttons and eventually got the above picture. I know there is a help menu but I don't want to read - I want to click. I want to click, click, double-click and have everything turn out the way I want.
I must make note that the background picture is Captain Jack's excellent photography and the top layer is one of my drawing.
Inspiration: Check out Julie Miller's Vintage Fictions.

Keepers
Regardless...
We will come down from the Heavens and
release your soul from the wrappings of linen
Brighter than Suns our eyes see clean
of the tarnish and blight that exists only to men
Regardless...
We will comfort with feathered embrace
even if all the ceremonies are not performed
even if the name is not carved in Onyx
Regardless...
We will journey to the placid after-life
