An ATC and a Dream
Do I need to tell you this is an ATC?
Here's the dream I had that inspired this card....
So, I'm in New Orleans (i've never been there in real life) and I am on some kind of class trip - I think - because we are a group of maybe 12 girls and we are staying at a bed and breakfast. Our room was in the basement of all places and this basement hadn't really be cleaned up since the hurricane. Our beds and suitcases were put in a crawl space and we had to crawl down a 3ft by 3ft unlit hall to get to the dorm.
This freaked me out...I was in a panic, thinking that as soon as I crawled into the hallway someone would crawl in after me and I would have no way of getting out again.
And that was the dream.
The whole claustrophobic part comes from real life. I have a claustrophobia thing but very specifically defined:
Elevators are no problem at all.
I could sit in a closed closet for hours.
If you hold a blanket over my head - I will freak.
I get panicky if I am in the backseat of a car that only has 2 doors.
I will never ever crawl into anything that is small or confined with only 1 exit.
What do you think, Dr. Freud?

Beef...It's what's for dinner
The wording on my last ATC...
It actually took someone else to point this out to me. One of my ATC idols - Brad.
Yes...I really do wonder where these sayings come from.
Maybe a subconscious thing like night of the living dead. But in this case it's meat that becomes reanimated to wipe out humanity.
Wow...I wonder about me sometimes.

Rest
(I'm a lazy scanner today!)
This ATC was inspired after seeing a TV show on the Civil War. I normally don't watch that kind of thing but Dan does and I was busy drawing 'Rosie' for Illustration Friday.
Honestly, I have no idea what rightfully belongs to the Dead...it just sounded good. I suppose if I really thought about it, I could come up with something really poignant. I sometimes wonder where these sayings pop up from. Is it something I heard or something I made up.
So anyway I named it 'Rest'.
It's up for trade - and let me just add that it's really hard to find people who want creepy ATC's so, I'll pretty much trade for anything:)

It's all about me...and embarassment
I am really camera shy...It just seems silly to take pictures of myself. But I want to update my avitar... So here's some facial expressions befitting ElizaDeath...
If your talking to me and my face looks like this...I'm thinking:
Oh...you are so full of sh*t!!!
Somebody help me...I'm being bored to death!

Inspiration of an ATC
One thing I absolutely love about Egyptian culture is that it predates Christianity.
Here's where I get my inspiration for all things Egyptian - An old Egyptian Literature book dated 1901. My copy is #547 out of 1000. I picked it up at Ebay for $20.
This is an ATC inspired by the Litany of Ra.
BTW... it is up for trade.

Bat Radar
The bats are back! It seems a little early - usually they're not here until May.
I'm still unable to get Dan to agree to put a Bat house on our house. He somehow thinks they will gnaw thru the siding and get in...fly around the bedroom at night...get tangled up in our hair...repopulate out of control...I don't know... all he said was he really didn't want it on the house.
I kind of don't either because it's a little unsightly. Having a bat house is just one of those fleeting playtime thoughts I keep having.

Illustration Friday
ForIllustration Friday it's a spotted week.
Here we've got a couple of interpretations...
It could be a fortune teller spotting significant points in your life or...
A fortune scammer spotted!
Go ahead and tell me what you think...even though I already know...or do I?

Illustration Friday
Illustration Friday: Speed - life in the fast lane.
This is truely inspired by misconception of song lyrics. Don't ya just hate it when you really like a song and want to sing along but don't know the words...or you think you know the words but not really? In this case I reject reality and substitute my own.
And I think this is the post that has pushed me over the edge about this whole scanner business. If it weren't 6:00 a.m. I'd be at Best Buy.

Sir Walter
A while back I had bought some ephemera books and of course used all the cute pictures first. So now I have all these odds and ends that I'm challenging myself to use.
What I think is odd in a funny way is that at the bottom of the can it says 'sooner or later, your favorite tobacco'
Truth in advertising without a doubt.

Illustration Friday
This card was a complete accident.
I had the jack in the box glued to the red paper and I just kept looking at it not knowing what to do. I knew I wanted to use it for Illustration Friday but it just wasn't going anywhere. I decided to call it 'spooked'- being that I do not like jack in the boxes -*stupid, creepy clowns*:(
Well, after I wrote 'spooked' it really reminded me of the carnival. Especially the carnival in "Something Wicked, this Way Comes" and there you have it.
Enjoy...
